Faith-Based Idiocy

Image via Pew Research

Just read this article at Addicting Info, "Americans Were Asked A Simple Science Question, Their Answers Will Make You Laugh…Or Cry," regarding the state of science literacy in the country. In short, it is not good, and a good chunk of the blame  can be laid at the feet of the rising tide of flat-Earther Christian conservatism in this country.

Unless someone invents an operational, profitable faith-based automobile or computer, I'd like those Americans engaging in anti-intellectual, anti-science, anti-rational applications of their Christian beliefs to 21st century education (and their ignorant enablers among political leaders) to realize that when China or some other country hammers the final nail into the coffin of U.S. industrial and economic prominence it will not be because those countries out-believed us.
